With the introduction of highly favourable tax incentives for the audio visual industry, the Government of Fiji Islands confirmed its commitment to promoting Fiji as a global 'preferred destination' for the production and distribution of film, television, music, IT, computer software, e-commerce and telecommunication businesses - and the development of the Yaqara City, the cornerstone to this initiative.

Declared an 'audio visual tax free zone and a town planning area', the Yaqara City has been identified as the only commercially controlled new city project on a green field site in the Pacific Rim with the added advantage of being underpinned by highly favorable taxation concessions.

Under its agreement with government and the native land owners, Yaqara Group Limited has been provided the unique opportunity to develop the land and foreshore to attract qualifying industry practitioners and sportsmen and women to live and work in Fiji.

The company has identified more than 15,000 residential developments and extensive commercial lots for sub-lease - creating one of the most innovative and attractive land developments in the Pacific Rim.

As part of its agreement with shareholders and stakeholders, Yaqara Group Limited will also apply the principles of the world's best practice in environmental development and sustainability with the view to establishing new benchmarks for planning and implementation.
